Saturday 22nd Feb

Postby Baldie » Sun Feb 02, 2020 8:55 pm

Hi Dale

Can you get in on 22nd, fancy a few practice games of Lart for my Arabs

The tourney is 501AD - 1319AD no heavy knights or foot knights allowed so Norman's, Anglo Norman's or Norman's in Sicily would fit right in.

I have no camels to scare the horses

Will try to get a few games in

Ta

Hi Dale if you can get in that would be fab.
I am not going to get in till 12:00 so if you get a game in the morning get cracking on and we will just see if we have time later or not.

Cheers

sorted, likely to have a few technical odds and sods to muck about with, but will do that after the game (CAUTION: MAD SCIENCE!!!), will dig ponies up tonight or in the morning but will have to do a list in the morning as still don't have the book for LDG

Banged you up a basic list, feel free to change at will

172 Norman
23 Units
Initiative 3
Camp
Plain or Forest

Division 1 COC
COC Brilliant
4 x Med knight impetuous Elite
2 x Breton LH Javelin

Division 2
Sub Competant
6 x Heavy Spearmen
2 x Cross Bow
4 x LI Bow

Division 3
Sub Competent
4 x Med knight impetuous

Two hard hitting wings and a solid centre, downside is they don't like terrain. Plus side my lads wont like getting run over by them

I have 135 Abbasid Arab
25 Units
Initiative 4
Fortified camp
Plain, Mountain or Desert. I have an Arab force with nothing that likes the desert

Division 1 COC
COC Brilliant
5 x Mixed units front rank spear rear rank bow
2 x Medium spear elite
5 x LI Javelin

Division 2
Sub competent
3 x LH Javelin
3 x LH Bow

Division 3
Sub competent
4 x Heavy Cav Bow Elite
2 x LH Impact elite

Slightly more troops, armoured camp and slightly better initiative. Heavy Cav bow are ok and do have the bow, LH Javelin need to run away, foot troops dont mind terrain so if we fight out of it you are in command if we fight in it the odds even up a bit but my mixed units count as mediocre troops in combat so -1 if I roll a 4, 5 or 6 rather than elite adding +1 if you roll a 1, 2 or a 3

Seems sensible in any game, "da plan" such as it was, was to try and nerf both flanks with the cavalry then envelop you, just took a bit too long to get the flanks nailed by which time I had taken too many casualties.

I'd blame the dice but I'm painfully aware thats but a small part of the problem..

its a good game though and I enjoyed it
