In with Sharp Practice, probably losing (again), but with French, so that counts as a win

have to love playing French, win you win, lose the French got a kicking...

This, needless to say, is of course why my French will be getting a kicking :)

Strangely enough my prediction of the outcome was spooky in its accuracy...

fun games though, there is definitely a sweet spot in terms of leaders, wondering if those big columns would work well with a Lv 2 to command and a pair of Lv 1 as back ups and to remove shock, need to have a think, which will hurt.

On the plus side I thought I had a second box of Perry's French, and it turns out I have. :)

Ahem...

Made a slight discovery today about the force I was using...

you know how sometimes when building your list you write a running total as you build it....

you know how sometimes when adding something else as a double check you add up the column of figures again, to be sure (and again if Irish of course - though they would get the correct answer)...

Some muppet, who shall remain nameless, when adding up the final total took the column of figures that were a running total and summed them and not the individual unit values.

in effect I had double counted all eight of my line troops...

only about 32 points down...

The worst bit is I'm not sure how much of a difference this made

*cries*

What a dipstick! :-) I thought we were beating them a bit easier than I expected.

Still, its all experience, not actually sure I have 100 points of French looking at them, though more are in progress, may try running the Old Guard mob as grenadiers and seeing how that works while they build up.

that or just using planks of wood which seems appropriate somehow.

Interesting to note though, even with another 8 line infantry groups its never yet been actual casualties breaking the army, but morale from falling back, so short of making the columns six units to spread shock further they are still going to break and cause all manor of chaos.

Checked on the TfL site and others have noted the cascading effect of the front of a column breaking and taking everyone behind with them.. this is apparently intentional to force you to manage the shock to avoid it so need to learn to get better at that
