It's weird, they are nice models but so many, if they paint them at all, go primer, two other colours then maybe a dip but often not even that

And then only because an event says 'three colours minimum'

Sad really, 40k can look amazing, but often doesn't.

There are however not hard to paint decently, worth a go at least

Because most of em are 90-100% armour, they're so easy to paint and make look good, depending which faction you pick.
Does it have Lasers or Templars?

Yup marines seem designed to suit single colour schemes, prime, wash, highlight, decals, varnish, done for the base colour then just a bit of contrasting trim and some gun metal and they look "ok", not hard to go a bit further.

Stuff like Orks & IG benefit from more time and you can go totally nuts with stuff like Eldar and still have it look good.

Prefer to face, plain but painted over "primed and that will do", and prefer either over the grey & silver legion

My Eldar - spray black. Paint helmets and guns bone. Light coat of yellow to weapons. Shade with brown or black. Drybrush with white. Done.

Look pretty damned fine especially in big groups.

Agreed they look good, amazing what a light brush of white, or a pale cream colour can do.

Intimidating to say the least in the quantities you have as well..

Hell the metallic reds on mine are hardly difficult, just the gold trim is time consuming.

Anyone who has done WW2 in 15mm can handle IG easily and have them look good as well I'd say (still wonder on using Bolt Action models with replaced weapons)
