D-Day 2016

Janco World War Two, multi system campaign

Certainly up for the idea of multiple games with a common theme, Pulp Alley would do a raid or rescue type mission pretty nicely and I;m sure bringing Bolt Action into this would get a few more involved, possibly a few smaller FoW games as a theme as well in place of a larger one to let the Para units in as well?

D-Day 2016
Thoughts

A concept for two days of mayhem in June.

We run a range of games, using a range of systems, in each game players on the defeated side score one point for the Allies or the Axis, those on the winning side score two points. - Keep a tally over the weekend of the scores out of the various games.

Suggested Themes
:german: Mid size multi-player FoW game, based on operations Cobra/Bluecoat as the allies try to break out, an excuse for panzer action and dense terrain.

:german: smaller FoW games based on the Villers-Bocage campaign games as these are quick and fun.

:german: Bolt Action for the raid on Pegasus Bridge if anyone has the forces for it and indeed a suitable bridge, failing that several raids on other high value German targets, radar stations and so on individually important.

:german: Pulp Alley, let the resistance run riot, perhaps the "follow the clues" mission to locate a Gestapo officer as the Germans try to find them

:german: Bag the Hun, allied raids over Normandy, German counterattacks trying to reach and attack the beaches

The point being let everyone with a WW2 force suitable for Normandy, whatever the system, join in with the insanity in a series of smaller and faster games - possibly a template for other such themed weekend events that are a lot easier to participate in even if you could only make part of one day and to avoid a run of bad luck resulting in James murdering dice or anyone being defeated individually, even if you're knocked out there are more missions!

Plus a chance to run both allies and axis in different games.

Looking like I won't be able to get up there ahead of this so my plan, unless someone says otherwise, is to bring a 2k list of allies and a 2k list of axis for FoW out of the Normandy books with a theme of the fighting on the days after the landing, plus various tiny planes for Bag the Hun. My 28mm models are better suited to Pulp Alley than Bolt Action as both forces are on the small side and neither really kitted for June, well June in England maybe, with snow bases.

Can thus run whatever, whenever or tweak to slightly smaller forces if needed. Will also lob the FoW fortifications in the car in case they are needed.
