Them Fokkers were Messerschmitts

Watched a great docufilm about one of the youngest Spitfire pilots to fight in the Battle of Britain.
He survived and was told he needed to rest so they sent him to Malta where he also survived but had a total nervous breakdown.

As I couldn't stop thinking about my tiny planes I decided to make a start on em.

On the go are
6 x Messerschmitt BF-109's
4 x Stukas, for those who do em good luck with the individual undercarriage wheels
3 x Heinkel bombers

6 x lavochkin fighters
6 x Yakovlev fighters
4 x Ilyushin bombers

Magnetising em all so they can be stuck onto and removed from flight stands so the same stands can be used for different flights.

After ammount of fingertip skin I have now lost I am thinking Dales stands drilled into the plane would have been a better idea.

Poss get a bit of paint on em tomorrow.

Reading the BTH rules you will not be surprised that if you use the random pilot skip level rules the Russian table generates a fair chance of being a sprog. Fortunately I have two or three sprogs for each of your cannon shells.

Waiting for some decals and magnets to arrive and starter force will be done.
Scott has created a great mat which is also on way so games could be played at B&B possibly.

Will stick some pics in the next post

12 Russian fighter and the three bombers done apart from decals and same with 10 German fighters, six bombers and four Stuka dive bombers.

First lot ready to us decal softener and a bit of varnish.

4 Stuka's with ME-109 escorts not sure if colours are legit but they are eastern front so happy with em, decals fairly easy to put on but may do some on fuselage as well. May have gone over the top with yellow but am using it to denote section leaders and aces.

First set of six Soviets prepared to sell their lives dearly think they are Polikarpov I-16's also got some LA-5's done, decals a right pain to line up. James you have it cracked with your Japs

Next are some medium bombers for both sides and some ME-110's for ze Germans, magnetising em to re use bases seems like a great idea but as they are only few quid for twenty it may not have been worth all the lost skin.

they look great - yeah, i'm not sure it's worth the effort magnetising them, think i'm just going to stick them to the bases

Got bases on this way and will be ordering some decals tonight. As the weekend is looking like a wash out I'm going to crack on with some painting so should/could be ready for the week after

Next batch done

Some ME-110's and some Bombers for Getmans
Will get pics done tomorrow.

Got some stars to do on four Russian bombers and it is a decent pack of stuff, far too much to be honest and there are still loads more bombers and transports to do.

That's without starting on MW German stuff, which other than some FW-190's are pretty much just duplicates. Loving the models though. To be fair the Luftwaffe can also be used to terrorise British airfields and border clashes in the east seem to be imminent.

May even get some Yank fighters as well to torpedo run on Jap aircraft.
