More piccies, Americans this time.

Again WiP, varnish needed and a few decals on the Cobras, not painting the teeth on though, no way I'm up to even trying that.

Have five more M1 in a blister, waiting delivery on some bases.

This lot will be ready by next time I come up that way

Are those last ones for Team Yankee? Is it a requirement to put the tanks on bases like that?
Does it have Lasers or Templars?

Not battlefront models, these are GHQ 1/285th scale not 1/100th scale

Intending to play team yankee with them, normally don't base vehicles and no need to for the rules, but the bases are 25mm square, these are tiny so figured it was an easy way to transport them, made painting a lot easier as well and provides somewhere to put unit markings. Also protects fragile gun barrels, plus the GHQ rules do need them based so figured what the hell. based on thin steel.

Something a bit larger, 1:100 scale Team Yankee models, in progress

Mil-24D "Hind", base colours and basic highlighting

Image

Main and tail rotor magnetised, to allow replacement with a clear disc. Horrible model, weak landing gear and even weaker rotors for a gaming model

T-72, base colour and black lining with a black wash

Image

Turret magnetised, nice easy to assemble model, only real niggle being the oversized mount for the AA MG, glues in ok just needs supporting for a few seconds.

Bit more complete

Essentially finished apart from weathering with a bit of light mud on the tank and perhaps some exhaust soot on the hind

A second Mil-24D joins the first

Image

This one doesn't look half so daft landed, though with static rotors both look a bit odd in the air, thats the next job to sort out.

Image

T-72 commander, now essentially finished, bar the final varnish coating which will darken the mud pigment slightly

Image

Of course, the thing with T-72 and Soviet stuff in general is the lack of trust, they are not allowed out alone just in case..

Image

Five completed, five more to highlight prior to wandering up on Wednesday.

5th edition IG codex ;)

Not quiet finished them yet but have some 1/285th scale infantry to go with the diddy ones and a BMP-2 recce platoon for the bigger ones.

The BF BMP-1/2 kit is very nice

First two BMP-2, still need the mud finishing and varnishing, also decals but need to get some different ones, Battlefront apparently think no Soviet force has more than 15 vehicles in it, and one of the has three numbers with another having just one..

Image

Seriously easy to assemble models, and more or less uniquely the commander model actually fits as well

Then for something smaller..

Image

1/285th scale infantry, a small selection of Soviets, bases from plastic sheet cut to be FoW bases scaled for the models scale... two crew bases are IIRC 9mm x 11mm. Oddly refreshing to paint, only bit with any highlighting is the basic uniform the rest are just flat colours, thinking a thinned brown wash may help though
