Legion Astartes oh and Guard

I have just started two new projects.

One is a Heresy era forge world only Marine army. So far I have 5 space marines with the MK3 armour. I plan to buy 5 more on payday. I haven't decided on a chapter yet BUT I was leaning towards the Sons of Horus so I would have an excuse to run Horus in Apoc games to ruin the fun for everyone else.

I hope to keep this running as I go. I have read somewhere that you can take twenty marines with meltaguns which is funny and well... awful...

And I also wanted a small Voystran Guard force.

I love them and know that when they go out of stock and turn to plastic or worse I will regret not owning some.

I have a HQ squad, 2 infantry squads and 3 x lascannon teams.

I plan to get the same again for my other troops choice.

And a tank or two. Maybe two.

or maybe an imperial knight. They look nice.

Right the mk3 legion army is now at 10 models. I have decided they will be sons of horus. I am going to build a 20 man tactical squad from the legion astartes codex. I have this feeling that Big Paul will be painting them.

As for the Guard... I am still Russ hunting. I need a Leman Russ. That might be a Christmas present to myself...

I am taking the guard very slow. I think it will be an allied platoon to the sons of horus. I just wanted some of the metal models before they go forever. So beautiful.

As for the sons of horus...

I got a pdf of the astartes codex and the primarch rules.

They are just insane. Really insane. I can imagine so much fun in Apoc. I am dying to buy horus but I am getting troop choices down first for sure.
