By the miracle of eBay the turnips grow, should finally have a HQ now, plus a few old style genestealers and some other bits.

Probably naff on the table but that's never bothered me before.

Pictures! well picture...

Image

20 hormagants, to run as a single brood, dubbed the Turnipettes for now.

Relics models lurking behind along with two 40k tanks worthy of a second hand tank lot...

Bit more progress, big stuff and little stuff.

Image

Mawloc, three bases of rippers and the prototype model for the old school genestealers.

Bases still need drybrushing and edging, but the models are essentially done, just the eyes to paint.

Mawloc took an age but is a beautiful model, the colours seem to suit him pretty well.

Ordered some cheaply forge world bits, skyslashers as they look fun (and with some resin they may breed *cough*) plus some of the nice TL devourers for my tyrant, to be called Brian, because he looks like a Brian.

It's sort of a slow burn army, built around other things but once Brian is done it's usable, pants, but usable

Force grows a bit more, will be at Janco's on Sunday.

Now have Zoe the Zoenthrope and 25 genestealers, one of which is called Gavin (not sure which one though) intended to run as the manufacotrum formation (basically allowed to infiltrate a lot closer to the enemy - have to be 1"+ away if they are in ruins or a building), cost is running five broods of them so 25 - 125 of them.. costy.

Two venomthropes built but won't be done by the weekend..

Still need to run either two specific formations or go unbound as still not actually got a HQ unit, army will spend its time bouncing IB rolls..

Quick check, Gavin & his merry mob are fixed at 25 models, the five broods are barred from taking any more friends, boohoo.

Still that 25 are now finished, based, and base edges varnished ready for the table. Actually not bad models for some 30 years old, didn't clean the mould lines, but then didn't first time round either, such things make you lose the will to live.

Only another 20 or so of them to go, those need paint stripping first though as they are horrible.

Well, the hive mind is never defeated, as such they have yet to play a game.. any evidence otherwise is clearly faked...

ahem..

Anyway, despite this an experiment is currently ongoing, first attempt at a two part mould to clone a few bits, highly likely to not work but worth a try. First part is setting currently, tomorrow evening should see the second part if the first one works.. Then a test pour on Thursday, talons crossed...

So more likely tomorrow will reveal a gooey mess of rubber that hasn't cured properly with some sorry looking bits in there that needs time to clean off.

Venonthropes based and waiting primer, the metal bits of the tyrant the same and a biovore cleaned up and destined for encasing in rubber.. Ooer
