Soviet Storm Early War

Postby Baldie » Mon Oct 13, 2014 10:18 am

In a perfect storm the stars have aligned.

FOW books reduced in price.
Barbarossa out soon.
Two weeks off work.
Birthday next week.
WW2 the complete history starting in the NY at Janco Toys.
Actually being motivated to do em.
Just enough black ink to finish em.

T34's are not strictly speaking the right model but they have one great advantage over the correct ones in that I already have em.

Made a start on the the last of my Flames Soviet Stuff, well last other than the two companies of infantry needing to be finished and that other EW tanks that are bound to come out.

BT-5's, T35's and T28's for the win.

I expect the turrets will be coming off on several occasions.

Ooooo toys...!

Can see my grey painted Germans getting an outing or two, unless its my British...

They get confused like that, the Time Haans led the Brits into battle, oh how they laughed...

Then shot him.

Again.

Not bad for a days work.

My painting may not be to everyone's tastes as it is a little cartoony but by eck its quick, just the decals to stick on now.

T34's and Dedov

T26 to fill in any ditches so the rest of the tanks can roll onwards.

Group shot Cains obviously picked up a tank.

30 million losses in men and women and as far as I can work out over 100'000 AFV's on Soviet side best get making more smoke markers.

When you absolutely have to crush every bridge in the area.

Looks massive for EW

Got to set the decals and then paint over them a bit to look like chipping.

3 x BT-7A, 5 x T26 and 2 x T-35, I love painting Soviet armour as the slap on effect works really well. Just as well really as there are loads of em.

Bit heavy on the old mud but it is cos I don't like doing the tracks for some reason.
