Finished my first unit - a sniper team.

Used Japanese Tank Crew for the uniform, with earth boots, think it's come out ok.





Finished shot with the bamboo added:



Now I've got a colour scheme sorted I can start batch painting the rest of them.

Also got a Stuart to build up and paint too as well as some artillery - a heavy and a medium howitzer.

Snipers have come out pretty well. Didn't occur to me to make them with plastic (have got a metal one) but they look the part. The bases and plants work nicely. Wonder if something like that quickshade stuff would work on the plants (make them look darker and wetter) or if that stuff would even stick to what I assume is that horrible bendy plastic.

Btw: how have you stuck the plants to the base?

Hmmm, I'm going to experiment with doing something to the plants, I've got plenty of spares

I attached them to the bases by drilling holes in the mdf bases and supergluing them in

Finished my captured M3 Stuart for the Burma theatre selector:


The kanji on the side (should) read 'captured' - it's also got a air identification flag on the back made from a foil wine cap.

Got joint best painted at Britcon, but as I podiumed the other guy got the award - very pleased with that though, I think they look pretty cool as a full army
