First Work in Progress pics of the forces of Victiux Seldemous

Image

Three formations of Auxiliary in three ranks plus the man himself and his not long yet suffering aids

Off to the right can be seen the partially completed archers that will combine to create the first five formations.

Basing will be sand, as can be seen from the general, the others have yet to have it applied.

basic colours, primed black, airbrushed the silver.. added off white, flat flesh, new wood and magic blue, then an earthshade wash over (the GW washes are pretty good as a 'pre-thinned' wash). bit of varnish and brown on the base.

now the weather is sensible they don't take too long, can do half that in an evening, hence the archers now being ready to prime, trick is not going down the rabbit hole with the details and not going made cleaning all the moulding defects up

will look a bit better when the bases are done, plan is plain sand glued down (as with the general) then a wash over it, just experimenting with the colours for that

Archers now finished, originally planned a few more on each base than this, but it didn't look as good as slightly more spaced out - which left 12 models for a base of skirmishing archers.

As you can see, these guys have had the sand applied now, so time for a group shot post the wash coat on the bases

have also done a bit of prep for the next few units, two lots of skirmishers with slings, two lots of light cavalry and two units of medium cavalry. Still not technically the minimums for a half sized force, need another big block of infantry for that but once the next lot is done will have a go at more infantry

Two units of light cavalry painted tonight, still on sticks and waiting varnish, which they will get when the other stuff on the sticks is also finished so it will be another six units in one hit there.

hopefully two more tomorrow...
