Quick bit of work from this afternoon and early evening

Image

Confederate Artillery, crew and Sergeant to lead it, terrible flash photo.

seriously need to sort out a photo area of some sort.

these guys had the grey airbrushed, sort of prototyping the remaining Confederates who will be mostly grey with just a few hints of the tan, seriously faster to paint with the base sprayed on, hope to put a dent in whats left over the next few days.

Also starting the 4Ground fencing, the first part in the background of the above, nice line of sight blocking fences. As usual they fall over a lot so will need the bases adapting, likely a few slivers of thin plastic will do it, doesn't need much.

Also, spot the deliberate mistake in the picture...

Todays project. first group from the second detachment of Confederates, this lot will be all in grey and as such the lot have been sprayed grey and given a black wash.

the following eight were then completed between snooker frames

faster to paint so hoping to get another eight done tomorrow.

Confederate family photo

Image

two 'regiments', each of three groups & command group plus a skirmisher group with an officer each

then a mounted general plus cannon, crew and artillery sergeant to lead it.

not pictured but the first 'regiment' of the Union side has tonight been primed to start painting the other baddies tomorrow

4Ground fencing in the background has been given a small plastic base, to stop it falling over, since the picture has been taken the bases have been painted brown as well

Not forgotten this lot, just not got round to taking pics, will take some at the shop soon as the swines are nearly ready.

flags on, just basing and varnishing to do and they are ready to roll, with the cavalry completed too. Only bits not done are two cannons and one set of crew, plus some Unions guys as I ran out of pennies to base them on when I was building them.

Thought occurred, I was sat downstairs, the models were upstairs...

doh

5th New York Regiment, in pyjamas apparently, with flags, bases part completed.

Image

slightly muddled shot, here you see to the rear a formation of Union cavalry, that for me are seriously advanced as the bases are done, bit bright as the glue isn't set yet

in front of these and at the very front are some farm animal objective/foraging markers, useful for any 28mm game really as markers or just scatter terrain.

to the right at the rear we have a WiP of a small civilian group, merchants and tinkers, in front of them the Union general. then unpainted we have more civilians waiting priming, some have a very European flavour but others will work in the States as well to a level.

hopefully tomorrow I can get the bases finished for the 5th New York lot, aiming to try and get the Union side based this week and weekend, and the Confederates next week and with luck will be varnished for weekend after that and ready for the table...
