A few Warlord models Colin lobbed my way a good few weeks ago.

Still a bit glossy as the quick shade hasn't fully hardened up yet





Not a pure base coat and dip job, the flesh gained a highlight as did the red and the black, hopefully once in a matt finish this will show up a bit more.

Model just needs the anti-shine spray coat which will hopefully go on at the weekend.

Piccy is a test from Donna's new phone as I wanted to see what the macro capability was like, this is somewhat zoomed out and shrunk but it works pretty well.

And now post application of something to dull the shine



Happy with how they have turned out, but will still layer the next lot I think.

Started putting the Vitrix models together, given they don't seem to be marching much I can see a good case to get a box of the Warlord ones, and probably some of the Perry ones as well and just jumble them up.

Next lot will be layered, have assembled another four to try that out on and see how it looks before going further, will take a while but baring miracles it takes a while to paint stuff at the moment.

Not sure why people moan about the Vitrix models, no more parts than a Warlord Bolt Action model, and they give you clear instructions as to which bits go with which bodies, what arms are paired etc (unlike Warlord), ok a few more bits than the Warlord Napoleonic models (body, backpack, head) with body, two arms, head and pack (plus the occasional leg) but the poses are a lot less wooden as a result. Should go well as a group.

Starting with the British as I have the colours and a uniform guide for them, French will follow, may be a while before they hit the table in any serious way but is only four models to a company so I guess it grows quickly..

1st line battalion of foot is now assembled, plus a single company of rifles (the Perry models are beautiful). Weather being its usual helpful self means I can't prime them to start painting also started assembling the 2nd line battalion of foot but not doing much more with them until the 1st is painted.

Got hold of "Albion Triumphant", have to say it is a wonderful book, GW could really learn something here. Indeed Warlord could learn from this for Bolt Action, its in a different league from the one Bolt Action book I have. Scenarios, descriptions of each unit, pictures of many of them, some uniform details (though some more guides for that would be nice), bit of history and some very nice army lists.

Looking forwards to getting these guys on the table.
