Epic has already happened.

Death Korps of Krieg vs Biel-tan 2K each

Rules set used, well who knows I am sure it was non of the recognised standards but close enough and it was a good little intro game.

Well Scott we actually almost got the rules right.

Supreme leaders gets to re roll a failed initiative once per turn
Infiltrate, double move on an assault
First strike does indeed get to go first but if it says +1A only the plus one attack is strike first.
Macro weapons we got right but they can hit any target so I think vehicles, troops and flyers

A unit failing an orders test is able to do a hold action, if it does the unit gets a blast marker and can either move twice or shoot once with -1 due to the blast marker

If you take blast markers equal to units in the formation is broken and can be given no orders, each extra hit is an auto kill with no saves

When rallying -1 for enemy within 30cm and -2 for being broken are cumulative so could be -3 to a test, if failed the unit make a withdrawal of two moves

We got most of it right anyway.

Still prefer Space Marine 1st edition... with a slight FAQ tweak so that void shields counted as vehicles so they couldn't be dropped by Bolter fire... and so they had a save just to avoid rubbish weapon spam taking down titan shields for a killer shot (there is a reason my younger self had guard and generally didn't let my Storm Lords out of the box).

Was easily the best system GW had at the time, forward thinking rewarded, command and control system that worked etc, plus a huge amount of colour in the rules that worked.

Not sure but wouldn't be amazed to find the new release is a based game, minimal support, vast cost (and still sells) but is in an oddball scale so the older epic models don't work with it.

That said FW are involved, this will be gorgeous...

Hmmm £100 for a 2k tau army, £126 for a 3k tau army.

God knows if they're any good...

Might see if I can eBay some stuff to fund it
